WRINKLES/FINE LINES

Fine Lines . Crow’s Feet . Sleep Lines Wrinkles are a by-product of the aging process. With age, skin cells divide more slowly, and the inner layer, called the dermis, begins to thin. The network of elastin (the protein which causes skin to stretch) and collagen fibers (the major structural proteins in the skin), which support the outer layer, loosen and unravel, causing depressions on the surface. With aging, skin also loses its elasticity, is less able to retain moisture, oil-secreting glands are less efficient and the skin is slower to heal. All of these contribute to the development of wrinkles. Exposure to ultraviolet radiation (too much sun) can result in premature aging of skin. Premature aging of the skin is called photoaging. ACNE/BLEMISH

Acne is a disease that affects the skin’s oil glands. The small holes in your skin (pores) connect to oil glands under the skin. These glands make an oily substance called sebum. The pores connect to the glands by a canal called a follicle. Inside the follicles, oil carries dead skin cells to the surface of the skin. A thin hair also grows through the follicle and out to the skin. When the follicle of a skin gland clogs up, a pimple grows. Most pimples are found on the face, neck, back, chest, and shoulders. Acne is not a serious health threat, but it can cause scars. How does Acne Develop ? Sometimes, the hair, sebum, and skin cells clump together into a plug. The bacteria in the plug cause swelling. Then when the plug starts to break down, a pimple grows. There are many types of pimples. The most common types are: Whiteheads: These are pimples that stay under the surface of the skin.Blackheads: These pimples rise to the skin’s surface and look black. The black color is not from dirt.Papules: These are small pink bumps that can be tender.Pustules: These pimples are red at the bottom and have pus on top.Nodules: These are large, painful, solid pimples that are deep in the skin.Cysts: These deep, painful, pus-filled pimples can cause scars. BLACK/WHITEHEADS

A blackhead (medically known as an open comedo) is a yellow or blackish bump or plug on the skin. Blackheads are caused by excess oils that have accumulated in the sebaceous gland’s duct. The substance found in these bumps mostly consists of keratin and oil, which darkens as it oxidizes. Clogged hair follicles, where blackheads often occur, reflect light irregularly to produce a blackhead’s “black” hue. For this reason, the blockage might not necessarily look black when extracted from the pore, but may have a more yellow-brown colour as a result of its melanin content. In contrast, a “whitehead” (more commonly known as a pimple or a closed comedo) is a follicle that is filled with the same material, sebum, but lacks a small opening to the skin surface. Since the air cannot reach the follicle, the material is not oxidized, and remains white.Source : Medicine.net Our Beauty Consultant says Avoid squeezing out your own blackheads and whiteheads or it will damage your skin and cause permanent pore size increase. Seek advise from your therapist.
